Now we’ll practice a few “er/ir” have verbs. Let’s take just a minute to review the different conjugations of “haber”. Be sure and repeat aloud.
He | Hemos | remember, for “ar” verbs, the ending is - ado (“ar” verbs”) and for “er/ir” verbs, the ending is - ido (“er/ir” verbs) |
Has | Habéis | |
Ha | Han |
Let’s take a look at a few here. See if you can guess the answers:
She has learned | Ha aprendido
All of you have served | Han servido
Sra. Rodríguez, you have decided? | Ha decidido
We have lost | Hemos perdido
Rosa, have you lived | Has aprendido
They have attended | Han asistido
He has repeated | Ha repetido
I have promised | He prometido |
How did you do? In a few minutes you can practice more of these, but first, we need to learn a few new vocabulary words:
a dog | un perro |
for a long time | por mucho tiempo |
muchas veces | many times |
forever | para siempre |
yet | todavía |
the class | La clase |
Now, just a quick side note. In Spanish, if you say you are going to attend anything, like a class or meeting, you have to put an “a” after the word “attend” (asistir). For example, “I attend the class” would be “Asisto a la clase”
